Your pictures will be less likely to have red-eye problems because the flip-up flash design puts extra distance between flash and lens. The viewfinder lets you see the picture in the format you've chosen - before you take the picture. The C400 Advantix camera from Kodak features point-and-shoot simplicity. Its 25mm glass lens and autofocusing let you take photos from 2.5 feet and beyond, and the flip-up flash fires automatically in low-light situations. The flash also fires away from the lens to reduce red-eye. The flash unit protects the lens when the flash is closed. Every photo is labeled with the date and time, and the Kodak C400 records lighting and color data on the film's magnetic strip for the photo lab to use during developing. Because the Kodak C400 is an Advanced Photo System camera, you have the choice of three print formats--classic, group, or panoramic--and the viewfinder displays the selected picture size. The Kodak C400 automatically advances and rewinds film, and the safety interlock prevents the door from opening until the roll is completely rewound. A self-timer lets you take self-portraits or include yourself in group shots. A roll of Kodak Advantix color film, two AAA batteries, coupon book, instructional manual, and detachable camera strap are included. Kodak offers a one-year warranty on parts and labor. Customer Reviewsgreat camera Review date: 2006-08-20 Rating: 10 out of 10 If you're looking for an easy, quick camera to use, this is the one. I have been using this model since it first came out, and I have found that I have gotten more usable shots- they're in focus, no red-eye, colors are never over or under-exposed. My friends + family are always commenting on the great quality, when they get their photos. Kodak camera C400: Review date: 2001-12-13 Rating: 8 out of 10 I have owned this camera for over a year and considering it is my first camera, it's pretty good. However, there are a few things that customers should be aware of. For instance, the C400 does not have a zoom feature, which makes it really hard to take far away pictures, because you have to get closer to the subject, which is not practical when you're taking pictures from an elevated surface. Even though this camera comes with a night flash the majority of my night and indoor pictures have come out underexposed. However, I do recommend this camera if you don't have to take pictures from elevated surfaces(no zoom to bring the picture closer to you), and/or in low light situations, the extra flash is not enough. This camera is also good for first time owners of a camera. Once you start taking pictures you can determine your needs a lot better and buy something else. Stopped working after a year Review date: 2001-11-25 Rating: 4 out of 10 I'm definitely in the minority here. I had a C400 which suddenly stopped working (shutter stopped working). Unfortunately, I didn't find out about it until I had wasted several rolls of film. Luckily, the snapshots I took were replaceable. Still I expected more from Kodak. If the reviews here are any indication, you will have better luck than I did. Stay Away! Review date: 2000-06-28 Rating: 2 out of 10 Coming from the perspective of someone who worked for one of Canada's largest photo retail chains, I strongly advise anyone agains buying Kodak Cameras, or at least be aware of thier reputations. Our company stopped carrying Kodak cameras because of thier poor construction, common problems were with the battery doors, film doors, zoom, and the flip flash. The most common being the batter door latches breaking off. In one year we returned twice as many from our store as we sold. It was that bad. Kodak makes awesome high end cameras, thier film and paper can be second to none as well, but thier cameras, leave that to the big three. Stay Away!
